Classification and characteristics of low-temperature steel forgings

1、 Low alloy steel forgings

Low alloy steel forgings are a type of steel containing less than 5% alloy, with high strength and good weldability. Their main characteristics are as follows:

1. Good malleability: Low alloy steel has a lower carbon content than ordinary carbon steel and is easy to process and shape.

2. High strength: Low alloy steel forgings have high strength and hardness, making them have good tensile strength, wear resistance, and impact resistance.

3. Corrosion resistance: Elements such as chromium and nickel in low-alloy steel can improve its corrosion resistance.

4. Chemical stability: Low alloy steel has relatively stable chemical properties, with good hardness, toughness, and weldability.

2、 Stainless steel forgings

Stainless steel forgings are a type of high alloy steel with high corrosion resistance, toughness, and plasticity, characterized by the following features:

1. Good corrosion resistance: Stainless steel has a high chromium content, which gives it excellent corrosion resistance and can be used to manufacture components for use in humid or corrosive environments.

2. Good wear resistance: Stainless steel contains corresponding alloy elements, which make it have excellent wear resistance and suitable for some high load and easily worn occasions.

3. Good toughness and plasticity: Stainless steel forgings have good toughness and plasticity, which can meet some highly demanding manufacturing needs.

4. Good strength and rigidity: Stainless steel forgings have relatively high strength and rigidity, making them have high tensile strength and impact resistance.

In short, low-temperature steel forgings have good performance and are suitable for manufacturing some high demand components, such as aerospace, petrochemical, nuclear industry and other fields.
