Classification of stabilizer

In the petroleum industry, stabilizers are mainly used to ensure that downhole tools or tubing are centered in the wellbore, in order to improve operational efficiency and safety. According to different application scenarios and functions, stabilizers can be divided into the following categories:

### 1. ** Classified by purpose**

-* * Casing stabilizer * *: Used to ensure that the casing is centered in the wellbore when going down the well, prevent casing eccentricity, and ensure even distribution of cement sheath.

-Drill string stabilizer: Used during the drilling process to prevent direct contact between the drill string and the wellbore wall, reduce friction and wear, while maintaining the wellbore trajectory.

-* * Well completion stabilizer * *: Used in well completion operations to ensure that completion tools or tubing are centered and improve completion efficiency.

### 2. ** Classified by structure**

-* * Rigid stabilizer * *: Made of metal material, with a sturdy structure, suitable for high-strength underground environments.

-Elastic stabilizer: made of elastic material (such as rubber) with certain elastic deformation ability, suitable for wellbore with large changes in diameter.

-Adjustable stabilizer: It can be adjusted according to the diameter of the wellbore and is suitable for different wellbore diameters.

### 3. ** Classified by installation method**

-Fixed stabilizer: fixed on the pipe column or tool and cannot be moved.

-Sliding stabilizer: It can slide on the pipe column and is suitable for situations where position adjustment is needed.

### 4. ** Classified by material**

-Metal centralizer: usually made of steel or other alloys, with high strength and wear resistance.

-Non metallic stabilizer: usually made of materials such as rubber and plastic, with good elasticity and corrosion resistance.

### 5. ** Classified by Function**

-* * Conventional stabilizer * *: mainly used to keep the pipe or tool centered.

-Rotating stabilizer: It has a rotating function and is suitable for rotating operations.

-Anti jamming stabilizer: It has anti jamming function and is suitable for easy jamming well sections.

### 6. ** Classified by well type**

-Vertical well stabilizer: Suitable for vertical wells.

-Horizontal well stabilizer: suitable for horizontal wells or high angle wells, with a special structural design to adapt to the bending and tilting of the wellbore.

### 7. ** Classified by size**

-* * Standard stabilizer * *: Suitable for standard wellbore diameters.

-* * Customized stabilizer * *: Customized according to special wellbore diameters or operational requirements.

### 8. ** Classified by work environment**

-High temperature and high pressure stabilizer: Suitable for underground environments with high temperature and high pressure, the material has the characteristics of high temperature and high pressure resistance.

-* * Conventional environmental stabilizer * *: Suitable for conventional underground environments.

These classification methods can help users choose suitable stabilizers based on specific job requirements to improve job efficiency and safety.
